The Resource Management Team of the NYS Council of Trout Unlimited developed and maintains this site to serve over 30 TU chapters across New York State – each caring for our fragile trout streams as they implement TU’s Strategic Plan for conservation using sound science and best management practices. Intact, healthy streams nurture healthy populations of wild trout. These streams need protection and serve as critical models for impacted streams in need of restoration.
• View photographic displays and text summaries linked to standard assessments -- rapid to increasingly
detailed -- providing key parameters of: stream form and function, water quality, trout fishery conditions
and invertebrates.
• Given the nature of TU’s mission, our work with streams is ongoing: human activities continually
impact streams and restorations respond over time. Look for frequent updates by TU chapters: adding new
streams, new projects, updating stream status, and monitoring restoration outcomes.
